Hi there!
My name is Benjamin.
I started this album two years ago back in September 2020. Life has changed drastically in these short two years and this album has evolved countless times throughout its creation. I am very proud of what it has become and I hope all listeners have a great experience listening to it!

This project explores concepts of relationships, political issues in modern day society and the concept of an after life and was created to flow as one whole experience.

This is a Progressive Metalcore album featuring elements of ambient music and orchestral arrangement to tell a cosmic story relating to the thoughts in my head. This project was first and foremost inspired by Thornhill's album "The Dark Pool" after I listened to it about 50 times during that period. I fell in love with the ambient tones and juxtaposition between the heavy music and high timbre clean singing all coming together to create a quick ethereal experience that I was well moved by. I aimed to create a similar feeling with my own creative inputs and ideals. I love the concept of space and the abstract thoughts that come from it and I have always wanted to create music relating to space in some way, finally I have been able to fulfil that here.

Solar and Polarize.
Solar is the albums intro and provides a slow and cautious build up to one of the most energetic songs on the album, Polarize. Polarize is about being held back by the chains of modern day society and having to try and find yourself throughout all of that. When a beam of light is Polarized, it is restricted and will no longer be able to shoot in the same direction if not at all.

Pre-Flight and Departure.
Pre-Flight is my first Orchestral addition to Elisus. It begins the story of someone suiting up to leave the Earth due to the decayed state in which it has become. This leads into Departure, the first leg of the doomed journey, which explains actually taking off from the Planet and what will lay ahead for the rest of this persons life.

Lunar Light.
This song is the way I try to process the concept of relationships and how and why they are formed. The Lunar Light guiding this person in the story depicts the natural urge we have as humans to seek out our soulmate to love for the rest of our lives. Having been through a lot of trials in my own life so far, there is also mention of self reflection in the song and trying to accept myself for who I am.

Nebula.
This song looks at a similar relational concept. At the risk of basically saying this is a "love song"... What this song talks about mainly is the feeling of not being good enough for a person that seems perfect but is too far away for you to have a chance. Whether that be far away mentally or physically. Again there is a mention of self worth in the breakdown of this song and the questioning of when and why that needs to be a focus of mine.

Galaxy.
Galaxy talks about the philosophy of human kind and how we were all created from the same biology and yet we are so divided in our modern age. Without needing to get too political, it seems we are all too different within our personalities to get along through and through. But thinking about our Galaxy and how vast it is and how small we are within it, its crazy to think that we SHOULD have more important things to be focusing our attention and energy on other than War, Racism and Money. But alas this is the world we live in.

Cosmic Rain, Dark Haze and Void.
This is a trilogy ending the album that explores the concept of death and an after life. Cosmic Rain begins the story of a man who was suddenly struck by death and the song explains his mental processing in his final minutes of fading away in the nights rain. His soul is suddenly pulled into an other world, in limbo between reality and the void. This world is a dark and scary copy of our world and it houses the blackened spirits of the ones who have passed on into the void, all desperate for their souls to be either erased completely or re-incarnated into reality again. This creates a dark and violent environment for new souls entering and journeying to the void with no turning back. Finally this persons soul rests now in the void and the void allows a window into the real world we he is doomed to see into the lives of the living, floating in nothingness for eternity.

That's it!
These concepts are vastly different between each other especially the last trilogy but I felt it fitting that these concepts could lay on a space themed album.
I hope you take 40mins out of your time to experience this album and potentially relate to some of it in a way that's similar to my experiences in life.
